Dream Stage

The project, dubbed "Dream Stage," was conceived as a groundbreaking integration of technology and live streaming to create an interactive cooking channel. This endeavor sought to reimagine the traditional cooking show format by incorporating advanced sensor technology and automated camera switching to enhance viewer engagement and streamline the production process.

At the heart of Dream Stage was the utilization of a sophisticated environment equipped with multiple cameras strategically placed around the cooking area, including key locations such as the refrigerator, stove, sink, and preparation space. The innovative use of sensor technology, potentially leveraging devices like the Microsoft Kinect, was planned to detect the presenter's movements within the kitchen. For instance, as the presenter approached and opened the refrigerator, a camera placed inside would activate, capturing the action of retrieving ingredients. Upon closing the refrigerator door, the system would automatically switch to a broader camera angle, encompassing the kitchen's general view.

Progressing to the cutting station, a camera positioned above the countertop would highlight the detailed work of chopping ingredients. Similarly, moving to the stove would trigger a camera within the hood to focus on the cooking process, providing viewers with a close-up view of the pot on the stove. This seamless transition between cameras was intended to mimic the decision-making process of a live producer, selecting the most relevant camera angles in real-time based on the presenter's location and actions.

Dream Stage aimed to orchestrate a complex sequence of actions inherent in meal preparation, transforming them into a polished, production-quality live stream. This approach not only promised to elevate the visual and interactive quality of the cooking show but also demonstrated the potential for technology to automate and enhance the production values of live broadcasting. By eliminating the need for manual camera switching and allowing the presenter's natural movement to dictate the visual narrative, Dream Stage envisioned a future where technology and creativity converge to create immersive and engaging viewer experiences.
