Holiday Campaign ‘20
In 2020, during my tenure at Vivaldi, we launched a unique holiday campaign that creatively merged trend analysis with traditional holiday spirit. We outsourced the rewriting of lyrics to classic holiday songs, tailoring them to reflect the trends and events we observed throughout the year. To showcase these reimagined songs, I developed a responsive website designed as an advent calendar. This digital calendar gradually unveiled new songs daily, enhancing the anticipation and engagement of our audience during the festive season.
The website featured a visually engaging interface where each song was represented by a spinning record. This design choice not only paid homage to the nostalgic charm of vinyl records but also utilized the HTML5 audio context for playback, offering users an immersive listening experience. Interaction with the website was thoughtfully designed; clicking on the spinning record would pause the song, slowing down the audio playback to mimic the sound of a record player coming to a stop, adding an authentic touch to the digital experience.
Additionally, the website allowed users to share specific songs directly, linking to individual tracks to facilitate easy sharing and discovery. It also featured a system for suggesting related songs, further encouraging exploration within the site. While the details of the entire system have faded over time, the core functionality aimed at creating a memorable and interactive holiday campaign that stood out for its innovative use of technology and creative content delivery.
